Who are you ?

[MC]

I am curious as to why I’ve been enlisted to do this. If I was a DJ, I would go by the moniker (dj steve) “Digestif” and I would do sets after dinner.

[Un]

Tell us about your playlist.

[MC]

You’ve just left a lovely dinner party in the city, you’re tipsy & giddy but also a bit sad. You met someone who makes you feel electric but you had to leave for some rather rational reason, because you’re boring and responsible this week. Here is a soundtrack for your melancholy road trip out of the city to the middle of nowhere. Roll your windows down and reflect on your most engaging bits of banter from that magical encounter.

[Un]

What are you working on right now?

[MC]

Pickling radishes while writing a children’s book about the migratory herding of imaginary animals.

[Un]

What are you working on next?

[MC]

Eating pickled radishes.

[Un]

What is the best story from a set or performance?

[MC]

There’s no perfect or best or greatest, but there are times when everything lines up quite nicely, when you get that runner’s high. For instance I made a near flawless rice omelet the other day.

[Un]

What is the best sound?

[MC]

An enthusiastic nod of agreement from someone you respect right after you articulated an idea spectacularly...that and Crispy things going crackle.

[Un]

What is your favorite part of your creative process?

[MC]

Connecting the dots, feeling so dumb that you hadn’t seen it before but also admiring yourself for placing things in your own path so brilliantly.

[Un]

What is your favorite color?

[MC]

8

[Un]

What artist do you admire the most?

[MC]

Andy Goldsworthy is up there at the moment. He has currently convinced me that being an artist is the highest form of human accomplishment. There’s also a hummingbird outside my window nowadays, brilliantly talented little fucker.

[Un]

If you were a cocktail, what would you be?

[MC]

I told you before, I’m Digestif.

[Un]

What is the greatest feeling in the world?

[MC]

Self Respect.

[Un]

What was the last thing that made you laugh really hard?

[Un]

What is the last text message in your phone?

[MC]

How many more weeks of quarantine before “making your own ice cream” is the new sourdough?

[Un]

What was the last song you listened to on repeat?

[MC]

Airwolf theme song

[Un]

If you could supervise music for a TV show or a movie, what would it be?

[MC]
