Q: Who are you?
G: Just a regular girl from Seattle who does Extraordinary things.
B: Blimes – A city kid. Super tomboy. Rap assassin. Manifesting this crazy ass life I live. One half of the hip-hop duo Blimes and Gab.
Q: Tell us about your playlist.
G: My selects on the playlist are a “I like what I like” type vibe, most of the songs on there are cuts I play all the time. Don’t fix what ain’t broken ya know?
B: I threw some influential classics that were important to my journey in music like “Lucifer” by Hov, “Fanmail” by TLC in the mix and then some forever ‘get me feeling good’ like the Mac and Miguel track, and then added a few of my current faves: Last Artful Dodgr “Better Safe Than Social”, “Chicago Freestyle” by Drake and Giveon, Eternal Light by the Free Nats.
Q: What are you working on right now?
G: Tryna get this album out, make hella content & pitch the TV show we’re creating.
B: Album Season baby! We’re rolling out our duo’s Debut “Talk About It” dropping June 26th! And a TV show. Scripted comedy about our unique friendship and experiences in the wild world of Entertainment.
Q: What are you working on next?
G: Any and everything I can get my hands on creatively.
B: After album drop and we get this TV show off the page, I’d love to assign some focus to continuing to build my label Peach House Records which is focused on uplifting female identifying and non-binary voices and visions, then take some vocal lessons, and workshop my acting.
Q: What is the best story from a set or performance?
G: Too many, and a lot I’m forgetting at the moment but Blimes gracefully falling at a tour stop in Chicago was great. The way she fell, it was almost like she decided to break dance at that moment or something. Lol
B: This is what jumped out for me too! Gab said she didn’t even realize I fell. Lol. Idk how I pulled that off. There’s footage though, you guys can see for yourself. Or Rocking Hot Damn with Method Man in the flesh in Vegas… That shit was magical and not just because of the mushroom tea in our system. He’s the best person to have on your team in the game. Integrity is second nature to that man and he proves it over and over.
Q: What is the best sound?
G: Not sure what you mean
Q: What is your favorite part of your creative process?
G: Marinating to a beat. Like right before you find actual words to put, and you’re just mumbling or talking gibberish to get the flow and cadence down. Love that.
B: When you find that puzzle piece bar in a verse when you’re not sure how you’re gonna bring the verse to an impactful close or even finish an empty bar in the middle of it, but after some second guessing, that inspiration strikes and a line comes together that rhymes, brings the verse full circle, and fits perfectly into the slot. It feels like shooting a buzzer beater.
Q: What is your favorite color?
G: Black, red, green, purple coo too.
B: Yellow & Orange.
Q: If you were a cocktail, what would you be?
G: Idk I’m not a drinker, but I know I would be straight no chaser ya diiiiiig
B: Shiiiit… Henny and Kombucha.
Q: What is the greatest feeling in the world?
G: Finding a doobie or a blunt in your purse or pocket.
B: Sex is cool, but have you ever been respected by the greatest in your craft??
Q: What was the last thing that made you laugh really hard?
G: The homie was drunk and tried to put on his hoodies not realizing the ceiling fan was on, the shit hit him all in the arms and head and then afterwards he tried to dance it off. Lol
B: A video of Gab’s Laugh after she told me to do an E40 impression during a photoshoot.
Q: What is the last text message in your phone?
A: Blime’s asking me about something lol
B: A screenshot of a virtual Wedding ( Covid Era )
Q: If you could supervise music for a TV show or a movie, what would it be?
G: The new season of The Punisher (whenever that comes) & Power.
B: Our show! Or anything by Wes Anderson
