Graceless, 

So there’s this kid

In the front row

Raising his hand

As though he will

Turn into a ball

Of light and vanish

If he doesn’t answer

The teacher riding

Us about Plato’s

Allegory of the Cave,

But I’m convinced

I’ll grow up to be

A samurai at this

Point in my life,

So I don’t know

What the fuck

Anyone is talking

About, but before

The kid can answer

Another kid boxes

The ears of another

Kid and it’s the old

Chaos of nothing new

Under the sun

And words are

Still shadows

Of their bad ideas.
